Understand where the equipment starts

MycoFrame uses third-party pre-inoculated substrate bags. The supplier handles substrate preparation, sterilization and inoculation. Inside the container, the system manages the environment through five stages. Confirm the condition of the bag at delivery and what additional colonization is expected on site. The word ready can mean different things to different suppliers; define it in the purchase specification.

Describe the bag, not just the species

Provide the supplier and equipment team with the variety, bag dimensions, fill weight, substrate formulation and intended fruiting method. Capacity depends on the physical bag and the selected rack layout. Up to 4,000 bags is the Standard reference, not a promise that every bag format fits in that quantity. Compact capacity is confirmed for the selected configuration.

Plan one compatible environment

An undivided container shares an environment. Start with one crop or a verified set of compatible needs. Different varieties can require different temperature, humidity, fresh-air and lighting conditions. A changeable recipe does not mean every variety has been validated or can be grown alongside another variety. Agree on the recipe, inspection points and adjustment process before scaling.

Build a replenishment schedule

Ask the supplier about order lead time, shipment conditions, shelf life, quality checks and how problems are handled. Consider what happens if a delivery is late or a batch is unsuitable. A growing schedule depends on reliable inputs, not only on nominal container capacity. Keep receiving records so bag condition and crop results can be discussed using the same evidence.

Use a pilot to learn

Record bag dimensions, variety, arrival condition, timing, environmental settings, harvest weight and crop losses. Separate total harvested weight from sellable weight. A pilot should help identify handling, recipe and supplier issues before committing to a repeated schedule. Do not turn a strong result from one batch into a guaranteed annual output.

Confirm responsibilities in writing

Bag quality, transport conditions, growing recipes and equipment performance belong to different parts of the project. Establish who supplies each item, who investigates an issue and what evidence is needed. Supplier names and availability depend on location and should be confirmed for your project rather than assumed from a general partner list.
